Treating Back Pain Where It Is FeltTreating Back Pain, But Not Where the Pain is Felt

This 3-year study into back pain across the globe published in the prestigious medical journal The Lancet reports that our current treatments for back pain are lacking in evidence of effectiveness. See article below

This research paper [below] shows how the Psoas Major Muscle exerts huge compression and sheer forces on our low spine resulting in crumpling and severely shearing the lumbar spine.

I’m often asked “Why aren’t I treating Back Pain Where the pain is Felt?”

I answer by asking the question – Well if your car keeps wearing out the tyres, why do you just keep changing them instead of fixing the alignment?

So why I don’t treat back pain is for the same reason as someone not continually changing the tyres, that is the symptom and there is a bigger problem in the alignment of the car.

Traditional therapies treat only the symptoms of back pain where the pain is felt.

They do this by focusing on the area where the pain exists, in this case, the back.  Often the pain returns and with each subsequent episode it is usually worse than the time before, with the symptoms spreading or increasing in intensity.

Treating the cause of the pain, rather than the symptoms, is the way to resolve back pain ongoing.

So why aren’t I treating back pain where it is felt?  Because that will not usually resolve it long term.
